Richard Thompson – ELECTRIC
The marketing of this record is Richard Thompson plugs in again but
it’s not that much different than his last couple of records. The songwriting is slightly better, slighty sharper which
makes it automatically his best record since the 90’s. Still I like everything he does. Standout
tracks – Good Things Happen to Bad People and Stuck on a Treadmill
Merchandise – TOTALE NIGHT
The EP follow-up to their debut further sharpens their unique sound – a
combination of The Smiths and Big Black.
A Morrisseyesque crooner over discordant guitar and electronic
percussion produces an addictive sound.
A good step forward for this band.
The Holydrug Couple – NOCTUARY
A Chilean shoegaze/ 60’s pop mix that is exquisitely produced. The vocals are low in the mix or not present
at all but with music this perfectly catchy and methodically crafted it doesn’t
really matter.
